About the ACCA Foundation Diploma

The ACCA qualification is a globally respected professional accounting qualification awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), one of the world’s largest and most recognized accounting bodies.

Applicants who do not hold Grade 12/LGCSE or a university bachelor’s degree are required to begin with the ACCA Foundation Diploma. Once this qualification is completed, students become eligible to progress to the ACCA Professional Qualification. The Foundation Diploma typically takes about one year to complete and consists of nine examinations.

After successfully completing the ACCA Foundation Diploma (AFD), students receive three exemptions from the ACCA Professional Qualification. As a result, instead of completing all 13 ACCA exams, foundation route students are required to pass only 10 exams. The exempted papers are Business and Technology (BT), Management Accounting (MA), and Financial Accounting (FA).
