• To provide a qualification in hospitality management that combines both subject knowledge and industry experience that is essential for the Learner’s career advancement.
• To equip Learners with the customer service, hospitality management and catering administration skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to achieve in the domestic and international business environment.

The program extends the knowledge obtained at Certificate Level and concentrates on providing learners with the additional knowledge, skills and techniques required for the efficient management of hotel & catering operations.

Overview of Knowledge, Understanding and Skills

The Certificate in Hospitality Management is the starting point for Learners with limited knowledge and experience of Hospitality Management. Please note, to be able to progress through this qualification the Certificate must have been completed first, Diploma can then be completed.
On successful completion of these qualifications, Learners are equipped with a range of skills including, but not limited to:
• Using Hospitality Management tools and techniques for a range of customer service and business situations.
• Analysis of the hospitality sector.
• Understanding methods, techniques and measures to engage effectively with customers
• Understanding methods for recording costs and administrative duties.

Career Opportunities

These qualifications prepare Learners to undertake a variety of roles in hospitality management.
Following successful completion of the qualification, Learners could:
• Seek employment in hospitality management related roles.
• Go on to further work in specialist hospitality areas.
• Further their studies in hospitality management or a specific business area.

Duration:

The ICM Diploma programme is structured over 3 years—with 2 years of class study followed by 1 year of internship. Please note that the internship year is optional, and you may graduate after 2 years if you successfully pass all your examinations.
