Overview of Knowledge, Understanding and Skills

The Certificate in Managing Health and Safety is the starting point for Learners with limited knowledge and experience of Managing Health and Safety. Please note the Diploma is only awarded once the Certificate is completed.
On successful completion of these qualifications, Learners are equipped with a range of skills including, but not limited to:
• Understanding and applying health and safety methodologies in the working environment.
• Using procedures and techniques for understanding risks.
• Understanding the factors which need to be managed to meet regulatory guidelines.
• Maintaining a positive health and safety culture and managing health and safety polices within the business organisation.

Career Opportunities

These qualifications prepares Learners to undertake a variety of roles in health and safety management. Following successful completion of the qualification, Learners could:
• Seek employment in health and safety management related roles.
• Go on to further work in health and safety areas.
• Further their studies in managing health and safety management studies or a specific health
and safety area.

Duration:

The ICM Diploma programme is structured over 3 years—with 2 years of class study followed by 1 year of internship. Please note that the internship year is optional, and you may graduate after 2 years if you successfully pass all your examinations.
